W hen the mercury rises, you need to
drink much more water than you
think. Dehydration and heat stroke
can happen in a hurry, even if you
don’t notice yourself sweating. I f
you’re planning activities longer
than an hour, such as a hike or long
bike ride, drink 16 ounces before you
leave, then swig 3 to 4 ounces about
every 15 minutes during your outing.
Lastly, down another 16 ounces
w ith in 30 minutes after you finish.

You may have heard that grilling
meat, fish, and poultry over high
heat can create cancer-causing
substances. To be on the safe side,
marinate meat first, w hich reduces
the form ation of these substances.
Moore also suggests cooking
down— for example, if you norm ally

medium-well. For a change, throw
some fru it on the grill, recommends
